About

Hello. This is Rob Britt and thanks for checking out my “Bio” page. This gives a bit of information on me and also lays out why I started this website and newsletter on understanding market basics and financial vehicles. Hopefully this will give you a feel for where this all started.

I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself and make clear the purpose of the newsletter.

My name is Rob Britt, and I am a successful member of the human race. I am self-employed, mostly writing, both my own work and copy for anyone willing to pay the price; I have a beautiful wife, Deb, and four great kids, CJ, Caitlin, Stephanie and Zack. It’s tough to think of them as kids, since the older two are out of high school, but they are my kids. I’ve spent the past 14 years in manufacturing and also 13 in the military (active duty and reserves). I have a Bachelors degree in Organizational Behavior and Applied Psychology, and am a Black Belt in Six Sigma Variation Reduction.

My passions include my family (first and above all), also local theater, music and anything financial. I’m the guy who always is reading the latest “get rich” book, or “The Intelligent Investor” or Forbes (or any number of investing magazines) or looking at the financial section of the local paper.

One thing I’ve found is that there is a great deal of information “out there” but most of it assumes a basic understanding of the market, stocks, bonds, funds, etc. You can also find books aimed at educating the masses. If you are like many people today, you really just don’t have time or desire to dive into a long read on a subject that probably bores you anyway.

I thought a short note, once a week, explaining an aspect of investing would be a painless way to get information you can use to help you with your investment choices. If you don’t have any investments yet, that’s OK too, because I will also discuss starting down the path to wealth.

Any time you have any questions, please feel free to write, and I will take the time to personally answer each promptly to the best of my ability.

Thanks for welcoming me into your lives.
